Youth Career Pathways Overview for Employers

The Youth Career Pathways program creates a pipeline of skilled, enthusiastic workers in the community. The project is designed to assist youth who face barriers to continue in education and gain employment in the state of Illinois. The goal is to provide basic and technical skills training and work experience to help participants enter careers, increase earnings, reduce reliance on public assistance, and improve their work abilities. Working with the Youth Career Pathways employment and training program can assist employers and industries by providing

  • Skilled workers with credentials to address the local need for high-demand occupations.   
  • An active role in developing and managing career pathway programs.
  • An active role in the continuous improvement process to enhance program quality.

Training and credential programs focus on in-demand industries, including Transportation and Distribution, IT, the Medical Field, Manufacturing, and other growth industries. Look at Step 2 to see the training programs offered in this program.
