Consistent branding is essential. Read the Illinois workNet Style Guide before using outreach materials to ensure logos are used correctly. Remember, Illinois workNet® is a Registered Trademark. Our Style Guide follows the U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) American Job Center Graphics Style Guide; find a summary of guidelines here.

Selecting Outreach Materials

We offer many outreach materials in different variations and formats.
Customizable materials include:
  • Templates for flyers, brochures, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Icons to incorporate into your print materials.
  • Illinois workNet® high-resolution logo files for flyers, posters, and signage.

Follow a few steps to narrow down and select the ones that meet your needs:
  1. Identify your audience.
  2. Select and customize materials. Read our Style Guide before customizing. Also, remember to proofread thoroughly to find subtle typos.
  3. For WIOA-funded publications, add this standard disclaimer to the footer:
    • "This workforce product was funded by a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration. The product was created by the recipient and does not necessarily reflect the official position of the U.S. Department of Labor. The Department of Labor makes no guarantees, warranties, or assurances of any kind, express or implied, with respect to such information, including any information on linked sites and including, but not limited to, accuracy of the information or its completeness, timeliness, usefulness, adequacy, continued availability, or ownership."
  4. In addition, all Illinois workNet® materials should have this disclaimer:
    • "The Illinois workNet® Center System, an American Job Center, is an equal opportunity employer/program. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities. All voice telephone numbers may be reached by persons using TTY/TDD equipment by calling TTY (800) 526-0844 or 711. This workforce product was funded by a grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration. For more information, please refer to the footer at the bottom of any webpage at IllinoisworkNet.com."
  5. Distribute the materials.

File Formats

In some cases, materials have multiple file formats. Below is a description of the differences and respective uses:
  • Print Version: Files contain small lines in each corner of the page to help ensure that the design of the material will not be cropped out or trimmed off. This is not meant for screen viewing or in-house printing.
  • PDF: Files are medium or high resolution for online viewing and printing.
  • EPS: File formats are high-quality graphic files used primarily to save artwork like logos, large signs, or banners.
  • JPG: These are photo images with smaller file sizes that are best suited for photographs or pictures with several colors.
  • PNG: These are photo images with higher file sizes that are best suited for images with text, graphics, and icons.
  • MS Word / Customizable Template: File formats allow editing to insert your logo contact information.
