Parkland College HCCTP Orientation
Attend an orientation to learn more about the Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) at Parkland College. The pre-apprenticeship program is designed to increase the participation of underrepresented groups in Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) construction projects.
The Highway Construction Careers Training Program has been implemented to increase the number of women, and other under-represented populations working on IDOT highway construction projects. The training consists of an intensive 18-week or 14-week program to learn the skills necessary for acceptance into registered apprenticeships of the highway construction trades and gives the opportunity for a career with high wage potential.
Program Requirements:
- Valid Illinois driver's license
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Pass a reading and math assessment test at the 7th-grade level
- Pass a drug test before acceptance and throughout the program
- Interest in working in the construction trades
