Description: Solar Energy Jobs Training Program is a 48-hour training program which utilizes classroom training and hands-on lab activities to prepare students for work in the solar industry. This certificate program establishes entry-level competency and appeals to employers in the renewable energy field. Coursework helps students work toward various industry credentials, including those through the North American Board of Energy Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). The Solar Training Academy is 5-Week, 8-Day, 9:00am-5:00pm series of classes that introduces students to the basics of Photovoltaic (PV) Technology, Site Assessment Practices, Design Principles, and Safety Considerations. The MREA Solar Training Academy’s course progression includes Basic Photovoltaics (PV 101), Renewable Energy Workforce, RPV Site Assessor Training (PV 201), PV System Design (PV 202), PV Labs and Design Scenarios (PV 204), PV Exam Prep (PV 220), and Safety and Best Practices for PV Installers (PV 280).
