The Career Compass Project is proud to highlight the success of Estefania Rizo, a standout participant from Thornton Township High School whose journey reflects the true impact of our summer Career Compass Project work program.

Over the summer, Estefania Rizo began working as a Pre-K–Kindergarten assistant through Restoration Ministries. From the very beginning, she consistently arrived on time and demonstrated impressive communication abilities that allowed her to connect smoothly with staff, families, and students.

Estefania helped create a classroom environment that was safe, engaging, and filled with curiosity. She balanced clear boundaries with genuine warmth, meeting each child exactly where they were and building meaningful connections that supported their growth and development. Her ability to make learning enjoyable and relevant quickly became one of her strongest gifts.

By the end of the program, it was evident that not hiring her for the school year would have been a missed opportunity.

Now, as she continues into the academic year, Estefania has seamlessly carried her passion, dedication, and natural talent into her current role. She remains a steady, positive presence in the classroom, uplifting students and enriching the entire learning community.

This is just the beginning of her story, and we are grateful to be part of her journey.
