Program Details
Gigi Peichih Ho joined the Immigrant/Refugee Restaurant Job Training Program and was very motivated to learn more about the food service and restaurant industry. She had considered becoming a restaurant owner before joining the program. Through the training, Gigi has learned many new skills and knowledge, including management, service, restaurant logistics, and culinary skills. She has also received ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certification through the training program, successfully completing the training, passing the exam, and earning her certification.
The program provided her opportunities to connect with peers and industry professionals, fostering knowledge sharing and support for her career aspirations. Gigi used the knowledge and credentials she gained from the program to successfully open her own Taiwanese-style restaurant, 9 Bar Taiwan Cafe, in Aurora, IL.
