Program Details

Kynnedy is a great young woman with a bright future! I met her in September 2025 at Thornwood High School in South Holland, IL. She is a senior involved in the Career Prep/Workforce program. I teach employability skills with them and help them navigate through career choices and life. Kynnedy expressed that she wants to become a CNA after high school, and with that, the wheels started turning. In January, we partnered with Lab Girls, Inc., a phlebotomy training center. I asked Kynnedy if she would be interested in becoming a phlebotomist, and she jumped at the opportunity! She is learning medical terminology, the meanings of the different-colored blood tubes, and the proper technique for needle insertion.

Kynnedy will graduate from high school this June and will walk across the stage as a certified phlebotomist! We are all so proud of her commitment and dedication!
