Antanee Anderson - Successful Employment
Program Details
My journey in healthcare began with an internship at La Rabida Children’s Hospital, where I gained firsthand experience in a compassionate and fast-paced medical environment. During my time there, I developed a strong appreciation for teamwork, responsibility, and the importance of patient-centered care. Observing healthcare professionals collaborate to ensure patient safety and well-being inspired me to pursue a more active role in the field. Through dedication and the relationships I built during the internship, the experience eventually led to an offer of employment, allowing me to continue growing within the healthcare environment that first inspired me.
This opportunity was made possible through the Great Opportunities Program with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which helped me gain real-world healthcare experience. Their support provided opportunities to explore career pathways and build the confidence needed to pursue my professional goals.
Motivated by these experiences, I worked toward becoming a Registered Pharmacy Technician. The transition required dedication, discipline, and strong attention to detail, skills that were strengthened during my internship and employment experience. Becoming registered represents more than career advancement; it reflects my commitment to making a meaningful impact in healthcare and supporting both patients and the professionals who care for them every day.
