My experience with the Destiny Outreach workforce training program was a pivotal step in launching my career in the entertainment industry. During the first four weeks, I built a strong foundation through hands-on training that prepared me for real-world production environments. I then continued my journey through an apprenticeship at CAN TV, where I gained practical experience working across multiple crew roles on original programming.
During my apprenticeship, I served as a camera operator, production assistant, and talent wrangler, while also supporting various departments with their workloads. This exposure helped me better understand the collaborative nature of production and discover where my strengths thrive. In addition, I took specialized classes and became certified on much of the equipment used at the station, further strengthening my technical skills.
Overall, the program provided me with the confidence and experience necessary to navigate professional production spaces and take meaningful steps forward in my film career.
