Program Details

Destiny Outreach has opened up a new source of life for me in the film industry—one that I didn't realize was open to me. My name is Julius Ross, and I am a Chicago native from the South Side. I went to college and earned a degree in video and film, but after graduating, I was a little lost in the field. In previous years, I worked as background talent on TV shows and small films, but I didn't experience a lot of stability in the industry.

Destiny Outreach put a lot of care into my resume, my credibility, and my skill set as someone looking for a doorway into the industry. Outside of the training and host site work, I was paired with a consultant to build my resume, work on my LinkedIn profile, and learn to conduct myself as an industry professional. I was able to sit in writers' room simulations and acting workshops. I was also able to work in media for a nonprofit that does a lot for the community, which allowed me to blend my two favorite things: helping the community and working with a camera. I am forever thankful and appreciative for Destiny Outreach and the push they gave me toward my dreams.
