Program Details
Lijun Zheng joined the Immigrant/Refugee Restaurant Job Training Program with a strong interest in building a stable career in the food service industry. Through the training, she developed key skills in kitchen safety, food preparation, time management, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment, while also gaining a stronger understanding of professional kitchen operations and expectations. Lijun also completed the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager training, successfully passing the exam and earning the credential, which further strengthened her qualifications and confidence. The program also provided opportunities to connect with peers and industry professionals, offering her support and insight into career pathways. With the knowledge, skills, and connections gained from the program, Lijun secured a position as a cook at the Trump Hotel, where she now applies professional culinary techniques and continues to grow within the food industry.
