Program Details

Maggie Feng Mei and her mother joined the Immigrant/Refugee Restaurant Job Training Program, sharing a dream of opening their own family restaurant. Through the training, she gained valuable knowledge and skills in restaurant management, customer service, food safety, daily operations, and culinary technique improvement. She also learned about the logistics and responsibilities involved in opening and operating a successful restaurant business. The program also provided opportunities to connect with peers and industry professionals, allowing them to build confidence and gain support for their business goals. Using the knowledge, experience, and credentials she gained through the program, Maggie and her mother successfully opened their own family restaurant, Jade Garden in Lyons, IL, where they proudly share their skills and culture with the community.
