Jamie Specht is currently earning $20.55/hr as a registered apprentice at Aspiritech, applying her newly acquired skills in real-world cybersecurity roles, & is also:
• Documenting cybersecurity policies currently in place by our clients
• Learning how to use Microsoft 365 tools
• Documenting Firewall inventory and licenses in use by our clients
• Observing coworkers complete requests for clients, such as changing user permissions or blocking a domain from sending emails

In Jamie's own words...
I got involved in Quality Assurance through Aspiritech back in 2011, after attempting other careers that were not a good fit for me. Aspiritech trained me, and that training and experience enabled me to move into other QA roles, creating a clear path forward. In 2025, I learned of the cybersecurity program and decided to take a chance on learning something new. While this was intimidating to me, it is a highly in-demand field and a great career move. While in the Academy, I learned about networking and cybersecurity concepts. There were videos, guest speakers, activities, and practice exams. We were given study tips and resources to practice our skills. Office hours for individual instruction time were also available throughout the program. All of this helped to cement the concepts we learned and allowed me to really understand the material. I used what I learned to earn my CompTIA Security+ certificate. At the conclusion of the Academy, I even stepped into an apprenticeship role to help me join the cybersecurity workforce.
