Program Details

Client SH came to Vision of Restoration after experiencing a job loss and spiraling into a deep depression. She had recently spent two years caring for her grandmother, and it had affected her work and many relationships. While the passing of her grandmother was heartbreaking, she realized she needed to rebuild her life. She enjoyed caring for her grandmother and felt she was good at it, so she looked for a training class to start a career as a home health aide. SH attended Forecast Community Development Corp.'s 6-week Home Health Aide training. She received her certification in Home Health Care. FCDC assigned her a case manager who helped her find a job. She was hired by Maxim Health Care a month after getting her certification and has been working for 5 months. She loves the freedom to create her own schedule and to help people. She shared that each of her clients is a way to care for her grandmother all over again. SH has recently set a long-term goal of attending nursing school.
