For employees of local early childhood education centers, working with Southwestern Illinois College's (SWIC) Workforce Development and Career Pathways Department and the Early Childhood Educator Department is an important step toward fulfilling their dream of becoming early childhood educators. Department staff work quickly and efficiently to register employees for related training and instruction courses and to complete registration in the Department of Labor System. Staff also connect with the local workforce development program so that both employees and the employer can benefit from available funding. Supporting the employee's professional development and the employer's workforce needs are vital stepping stones toward a strong early childhood education program that meets community needs.
