Program Details

Jimmie Middlebrooks began participating in the IYIP Youth Employment Program at Abundant Faith Christian Center on June 8, 2026. Throughout the season, he exhibited a dynamic work ethic, vast maturity, and strength of character beyond his young age of 17. His strengths included:

• timeliness and punctuality
• appropriate appearance and great hygiene
• critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• computer literacy
• motivation 
• dynamic in working with his team members to achieve task completion,
• positive attitude
• highly ambitious
• taking initiative
• vastly accountable for his actions and his work
• integrity and self-control 
• following the working procedures and the rules
• showing extraordinary credibility 
• takes constructive criticism (which was rarely given) and gives feedback when needed,
• great communication abilities with speaking clearly and effective listening,
• works well autonomously with minimal supervision, and provides service with a smile. 

If he hadn’t missed only 1 day due to illness, his attendance would have been perfect, yet he made up for that day by working 5 hours per day during the week following the close of the program, which was from August 10 through August 13. He not only expressed authority over himself, but he also exhibited his superpower of influence over those he worked with. He was a motivational team leader and always went above and beyond the call of duty for Abundant Faith Christian Center.

We were blessed to have his participation, to learn and assist him in the creation and stabilization of his occupational goals of becoming a commercial diver working on offshore oil rigs. We enjoyed his presence as he gained valuable experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, and building maintenance.

We thank him for his committed service, and he deserves much success in his future endeavors, as we look forward to hearing about those successes in the very near future.
