Program Details

Blake is a 2026 senior from Hillsboro and has been enrolled in the program for two years. He has made the most of every opportunity to grow his skills and knowledge in the automotive field. His favorite part of the program has been working on his own vehicle during shop labs, where he can apply what he’s learned in a real, hands-on setting.
While Blake has enjoyed many aspects of the program, he shares that the most challenging part has been automotive wiring. Despite the difficulty, he continues to push himself to understand this important component of vehicle repair better.
Some of Blake’s favorite hands-on experiences include learning about the different components of vehicle suspension systems and participating in the Christmas project, where students designed an automotive-themed Christmas tree for a contest. Blake says the program has given him a valuable head start on what to expect in the automotive industry.
