Program Details

Ms. Ja’Myah White, 20, graduated from Simeon Career Academy and participates in the Angel of God Resource Center’s (AOGRC) long-term Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP).
Through paid work experience with Serene Realty, Inc., Ms. White explored her interest in real estate. She also gained customer service and professional skills through the SGA program at Nordstrom, strengthening her job-readiness.
Ms. White reported that she interviewed with Akira in Orland Park and received a job offer. This customer service opportunity aligns with her short-term employment goal and will help her build on her workplace experience.
Her long-term goal is to become a licensed real estate broker within five years. AOGRC will continue supporting her as she explores licensing requirements, training options, and the steps toward that career.
Ms. White’s progress demonstrates how work experience and career exploration can help participants pursue immediate employment opportunities while building a foundation for their future goals.
