Program Details

Marquisha Little born and raised in Chicago, Illinois started the IYIP program at Ucan in November of 2020. Throughout the program, she met with Mrs. Shanna Ramsey & Mr. Ktrice McNeill who both have provided job readiness, employment support, and coaching to help Ms. Little reach her term goals. Little has secured several job placements that were unsuccessful in the past. Barriers battling street violence and gang-related activity affected Ms. Little from reaching her fullest potential.

Therefore, After a few unsuccessful job placements. Marquisha met with Career Specialist Linda Hernandez. Thru some coaching sit-downs, little made a resume and started applying to different jobs that fit her preference. In that process, she was interviewed and permanently hired by Wendy’s.

Little has been at Wendy’s for 2 months. She has worked all positions the job offers and her manager, Wanda Smith is happy with Marquisha’s performance. She has started to save to be able to get her own apartment and start nursing school. We are proud of Marquisha Little and her effort in trying to better herself and reach those goals she has. She will continue coming into UCAN and meeting with CS Linda, to receive coaching to reach her long term goals and get her career starting. We are very proud of her and how far she has come, we can’t wait to see her reach her goals.
