Tayonna Bohanon has been working with UCAN for 2 years. She found out about UCAN from a recommendation from her older brother who is also a participant as well. Career Specialist Lionel Carter has been assisting Tayonna since May 2022 providing job readiness skills and employment opportunities. Ms. Bohanon has been eager to learn and has shown improvement over the course of time.

Tayonna has had 2 internships through UCAN and participated in One Summer Program Chicago. Ms. Bohanon also did a 6-week program called Career Pathways earning 3 certifications. The first certification was for hospitality, the second for T.I.P.s basset, and the last one involved sanitation.

Ms. Bohanon has earned permanent employment at Walgreens. She is truly excited about her new job. Her long-term goal is to own an art gallery. She would like to start off at venues and places to sell her art hoping to flourish in the future.
