Program Details

Danielle Ellis was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Her interest in Information Technology (IT) peaked after being told she works well with technology.

In September 2022, Danielle signed up for the Youth Job Center. She wanted to further her knowledge and skills to find a career in the IT field. Danielle started the IT Career Lab with the National Able Network on September 26, 2022, and completed the program on February 3, 2022. During the IT Career Lab Program, Danielle earned two badges. The first badge was for Introduction to Networks, where she gained knowledge of networking, including IP addressing, how physical data link protocols support Ethernet, and configuring connectively between switches, routers, and end devices to provide access to local and remote resources. The second badge she earned was her CCNA: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation, where she obtained a foundation in scalable network architectures, dynamic routing, mitigation of security threats, wide area networks, virtualization, and automation of programmable networks. One of the things Danielle enjoyed while being a part of the IT program was subnetting/advanced subnetting and packet tracers.

Danielle is interested in graphic design or returning to school to major in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She plans to see how to combine the skills and knowledge to utilize in her career.
