Program Details

Adrianna Jimenez was motivated to make a career change to allow her to make more money for herself and her daughter. Once Adrianna enrolled in the Accelerate Program on May 16, 2022, we had numerous forklift training available, with one being the next day. Adrianna was determined to complete her forklift training and volunteered to attend the training on May 17, 2022, and completed the training successfully. Before attending truck driving training, she attended "Let’s Talk Trucking" at the beginning of June. This open discussion is provided to all participants monthly and facilitated by a truck driver operator/owner to help prepare participants for the trucking industry. Adrianna asked a lot of questions and was able to determine the type of truck driving she wanted to pursue. She also attended an expungement workshop hosted by the Accelerate program, which had attorneys on hand to answer questions and get participants started on the expungement process. Adrianna started truck driving training at the 160 Truck Driving Academy in June 2022 and obtained her CDL-A certification and license in August 2022.

Adrianna stated, “I appreciate the staff at the Accelerate program; I don’t think I would have gone through with getting my CDL-A if it wasn’t for you guys keeping me motivated even after you checked in and provided me with different resources to help me. Thank you for believing in me and making me feel I can accomplish my goals”.

Now that Adrianna has obtained her CDL-A, she’s interested in her current employer offering her a truck driving position.
