Connected with Youth Job Center (YJC) through Chicago Community Learning Center (CCLC) in late 2022, she navigated a path marked by challenges and significant achievements. Excelling in her coursework, Franchesca encountered formidable obstacles with testing anxiety during state exams, prompting her to seek support from YJC. They empowered her to advocate for herself, guiding her through professional evaluations and tailored tutoring sessions to address her challenges head-on.
With unwavering perseverance, Franchesca attained certifications as an EKG technician, Phlebotomy technician, and PCT, all made possible by the steadfast support of YJC tutors and career advisors. Balancing her responsibilities as a devoted mother advocating for her disabled child, she also found herself advocating for her own needs, including seeking medical advice for her testing anxiety—a crucial step supported by YJC. This dual role as caregiver and advocate underscored her determination to succeed in her career and overcome personal challenges, enriching her journey toward becoming a registered nurse.
Today, Franchesca thrives as a dedicated Phlebotomist, delivering compassionate care in the healthcare field while juggling the demands of motherhood, medical appointments, and a demanding schedule.
