Program Details

Jonothan came to The Workforce Connection in Illinois upon learning that he qualified for the TAA Program after being dislocated from his employment at Chrysler.  Jonothan explains that his prior experience in the automotive industry spurred in him a desire to explore the aviation industry.  After researching information on the aviation industry, Jonothan concluded that he wanted to enroll in aviation maintenance training at Rock Valley College.  Jonothan explains that he had a great experience training at Rock Valley College, and their aviation maintenance program is amazing.  He continues to explain that there were many difficult challenges during the program, but he felt he always had the support he needed to overcome these challenges.  Jonothan graduated on July 17^th 2024 with 3 Aviation Maintenance Certificates earned.  He went on to acquire a full-time job as an A&P Mechanic with SkyWest Airlines.  When asked how he feels about his new employment, Jonothan reported that he loves his new job and is very grateful for all the assistance he received during his participation in the TAA Program.  Jonothan stated that he even had job offers prior to graduating.  Jonothan states that he is going to keep learning what he can and hopes to advance to higher roles.  Jonothan would recommend this program and others like it to anyone interested, including getting into the aviation industry like he did.
