Determination to Go Solar
Program Details
Angel Zarazua came into Central States SER looking for help obtaining employment, like many clients, but Angel had one career set in his mind: solar. Angel had talked to 2 members of different programs, but when talking about his interests, he had expressed an interest in solar panel installation. Timing was perfect as our Climate & Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) program was still recruiting interested individuals for our first cohort of the Bridge Training. After meeting one-on-one with Angel, I quickly knew that his interest and commitment to getting into the solar industry were exactly what we were looking for to kick off our first cohort. We quickly took care of intake to ensure Angel would start on time with everyone else in the cohort. Throughout his time in the 6 weeks of training, Angel constantly participated in activities and was willing to go above and beyond with the activities and lessons taught during Bridge, showing continuous commitment and effort to completing the 6 weeks of training successfully, and he did. Angel obtained his certification for OSHA 10 and CPR/First Aid without problem and will be looking to start solar panel installation training as his job-specific training path of choice. We are very proud of the efforts Angel has demonstrated and look forward to continuing his path to his future career in the solar industry.
