Program Details

Alexis received work experience in the logistics industry and Employability Training. During the hiring process, Alexis expressed interest in becoming a Class A CDL Driver. Alexis was introduced to different aspects of the package delivery industry, including:

• On Road Safety (Defensive Driving, Distracted Driving Avoidance)
• Proper Loading/Unloading Technique
• Behind-the-Wheel Training on public roads
• Package Delivery
• Vehicle Pre-Trip and Post-Trip
• Customer Service Skills
• Time Management and Route Optimization
• Technology (GPS, Handheld Devices, In-Cab Cameras)

Alexis went above and beyond—asking questions, shadowing delivery drivers, and even staying later to understand logistics challenges. At the end of the training program, Alexis was awarded full-time employment as a Delivery Driver. Alexis was offered a salary of $23 per hour, and benefits include retirement savings, performance bonuses, health insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
