Chefs and Dinner Cooks - Licensing / Certification

Most states require chefs and dinner cooks to have a health certificate. This shows that these workers have taken a class that teaches safe food handling.

Certification is optional for chefs and cooks. It is rarely required for employment or advancement. However, certification is a way of receiving recognition for having strong skills.
