Certification for medical equipment repairers is optional. Certification is offered by both the International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) and the Electronics Technician Association (ETA). Both programs offer associate certificates for entry-level repairers. In addition, repairers with more experience may specialize in specific fields, such as medical electronics. Repairers must pass exams which correspond to their level of training and experience.
