On-the-job training
Almost all counter workers learn their skills on the job from an experienced worker. Training includes:
- taking and serving orders;
- using equipment necessary for the job;
- providing customer service; and
- studying restaurant policies.
After training, another worker supervises your work. Training generally lasts up to one month.
