Certification is available from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA). Certification is not generally required by employers. However, it does show that nationally recognized standards have been met. Individuals who wish to become certified must pass the Drafter Certification Test. Applicants are tested on their knowledge and understanding of basic drafting concepts such as geometric construction, working drawings, and architectural terms and standards.
