Many schools offer combined M.D./Ph.D. programs in biomedical science. This means that you become both a medical doctor and a research scientist.
You are unlikely to find a professional research or academic job with a bachelor's degree; therefore, most people with a degree in biomedical science go on to some type of professional or graduate school. You can go to medical, dental, pharmacy, or veterinary school. In addition, a degree in biomedical science is considered good preparation for graduate school in nursing, physical therapy, or further study in many of the life sciences.
