Power Plant Operators - Helpful Information

Things to know

When you graduate from an accredited program in health records technology, you can take a national exam to become a registered health information technician (RHIT). This credential is not necessary to practice; however, many employers see it as a sign of your competency and knowledge in this program of study. The exam is administered by the American Health Information Management Association.

You may have to get liability insurance before starting a clinical practicum.

If you want to pursue health records technology in greater depth, you should consider bachelor's or master's degree work in health records administration.
