Majoring in pre-nursing does not guarantee admission to nursing school. It provides good preparation for the program. Some schools do have programs that allow you to transfer to specific nursing programs, however.

Nursing school involves a lot of laboratory work and patient care. You get a taste of this research know-how in your laboratory pre-medicine science courses. But you want to supplement this with volunteering in a hospital or clinic or working as a CNA.

Some programs offer part-time or night study options.
