Hemodialysis Technician with Phlebotomy Tech & EKG Tech

The Tukiendorf Training Institute offers a Hemodialysis Technician with Phlebotomy Technician & EKG Technician components. This three component program will allow individuals to work in dialysis clinics, physician offices, group practices, hospitals, independent laboratories and public health facilities. Students will take Phlebotomy Technician component in order to become proficient in blood drawing procedures. The EKG Technician component, as an elective instead of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) component, is an option with this program to maximize the students educational experience. Duties of a Hemodialysis Technician include monitoring patients during dialysis treatment. Phlebotomy Technician includes: drawing blood, preparing specimens for storage and testing, assembling equipment and verifying patient's records. Duties of an EKG technician include: performing electrocardiogram tests and preparing patient's for these tests.

Physical exam form must be completed by the student's primary care physician or another qualified healthcare provider. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
