Electronic Medical Records Specialist

An essential component involved in the succesful transition from paper to digital medical records that healthcare providers are now experiencing is a staff member with knowledge of computer technology specifically related to the management and processing of health information with an emphasis on the electronic health record. The EMR career studies certificate will develop skills needed for healthcare-specific topics such as medical record content and format; standard techniques for filing, maintenance, and acquisition of health information; processes of collecting, computing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data related to health care services; and the role that accrediting and licensing bodies play in the delivery of health care. The customer will attend the information session explaining the CCLC process for the enrollment procedure. The customer is required to provide a government issued ID, social security card and high school diploma or GED. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
