Shipping & Receiving Training Program

The Shipping & Receiving Training Program assists job seekers achive contextualized basic, soft, and occupational technical skills necessary to secure employmnet and pursue careers in Transportation,Distributions, and Logistics (TDL). The program provides high impact training in TDL operations, industry-recognized credentials, and job placement. Graduates receive an Occupational Skills Certificate approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges, OSHA approved safety and forklift certifications, and placement in quality, career-track jobs.

The training program requires that applicants fill out an application covering personal data, family income, employment history, education and training, career interests, and goals. Criteria used to determine whether an applicant is admitted into the program include: (1) they must be at least 18 years old to be selected. (Applicants under age 18 at the time of application must have the written permission of parents or guardians.); (2) they must have a high school diploma or a minimum 6th grade reading and math level as indicated on the TABE Level D/CASAS Level C/D test if unable to provide a high school diploma;(3) they must interview with program staff; (4) they must undergo and test negative for drugs and alcohol. Customer need not bring any materials. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
