Interpersonal Relationships
- Have a high level of social contact. They communicate constantly with others in person, by telephone, e-mail, and written letters and memos.
- Often deal with conflict situations in which people are unpleasant or angry.
- Are moderately responsible for the health and safety of others.
- Almost always work as part of a group or team and are highly responsible for the work outcomes of others.
Physical Work Conditions
- Almost always work indoors.
- Work near others. They often share the same office space with other clerks.
- Usually work in a noisy environment, especially if in a call center.
Work Performance
- Must be very exact in performing the job so that information is accurate.
- Make decisions that affect others on a daily basis. Often make decisions without consulting a supervisor.
- Work in a competitive environment where daily deadlines must be met.
- Set most of their daily tasks and goals for the day without talking to a supervisor.

Hours/Travel
- Generally work a set schedule.
- May work part time or full time. Most work 40 hours a week.
