Program Description

Certified Medical Assistant Plus is a cross-trained patient care profession. You will be a vital member of the healthcare team and work to administer medications, assist with minor procedures, obtain laboratory specimens, perform electrocardiograms, provide patient education, perform phlebotomy procedures, prep rooms and prepare patients for examinations, while helping manage medical supply inventories. Medical Assistants may also assist nurses and physicians provide direct patient care by taking medical histories, charting vitals, and assisting in examinations and procedures. In some cases, Certified Medical Assistants may perform more advanced tasks under the supervision of a physician, which may include cleaning and dressing wounds, removing sutures, collecting blood and other specimens, as well as administering medication. Placement data indicates that currently 2,495 medical assistant positions available with in 25 mile radius of the school's zip code 60613.

The customer will attend the information session explaining the CCLC process for the enrollment procedure. The customer is required to provide a government issued ID, social security card and high school diploma or GED. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
