Program Description
This course prepares students to take on significant responsibilities as a member of the dental healthcare team. Specific tasks may be performed such as assisting with and providing direct patient care, sterilizing instruments, taking impressions, and performing office management skills. Areas of study covered are Legal and Ethical Responsibilities of the Dental Healthcare worker, general office procedures, Principles of Microbiology, disease prevention and Infection control, study of pharmacology and anesthesia as it relates to dentistry, and much more. Externships usually take place during normal business hours and all 120 hours must be completed to successfully pass this program. **A CPR course for Health Care Professionals is also required.
