Program Description
Medical assistants are health professionals specifically trained to work in ambulatory settings, such as physician's offices, clinics, and group practices. These multi-skilled personnel perform administrative and clinical procedures. Duties may include but not limited to : billing and coding, maintaining medical records, completing basic clinical assessments, recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination, collecting blood specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, performing EKG's, preparing and administrating medications, and assisting physicians with treatment and/or minor procedures. **Weeks completion dates based on attendance during fall and spring semesters only**
