Program Description
This hands-on training program is ideal for an individual who wants to start an information technology career. It teaches students the skills needed to be a computer service technician and network professional. This program covers installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and security of computer hardware, software, operating systems, peripherals, cabling, and networks. Secondly, students are taught the duties of those responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining computer systems and a networking architecture in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment platform. They are provided with the tools and knowledge they need to support existing cloud resources incorporated in these service models or on-premises resources that will eventually migrate to the cloud.

Must contact Ruth Schweikert at rschweik@harpercollege.edu for initial "exploration" paperwork and again when approved to pursue program at Harper to receive complete program course/cost breakdown and registration assistance. WIOA case manager must supply referral form and release of information waiver on clients intending to study at Harper. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

- Prerequisites - Familiar with Microsoft Office Software and basic knowledge of computing concepts
- Other - WIOA students must have initial and ongoing academic advising
