Program Description

The Tukiendorf Training Institute offers a Medical Assistant Certification Program to prepare people who aim to work in the medical field. This is a 2 component program which consist of: Phlebotomy Technician, Clinical Medical Assistant with basic EKG. Medical Assisting is an allied health profession whose practitioners function as members of the health care delivery team and perform administrative and clinical procedures. Medical Assistants are multi-skilled allied health professionals. Duties vary from office to office depending on location and size of the practice and the physicians specialty. Potential employment opportunities include private physicians practice, clinics, chiropractic clinics, podiatry offices, hospitals, insurance billing agencies, medical transcription agencies, ophthalmology clinics, laboratories and emergency rooms. Medical Assistants also perform many clerical duties. They answer telephones, greet patients, update and file patient medical records, fill out insurance forms, handle correspondence, schedule appointments, arrange for hospital admission and laboratory services, and handle billing and bookkeeping. A graduate of the Medical Assistant Certification Program at T.T.I. will have the potential to be employed as a Medical Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Phlebotomist, Medical Technician (Med-tech), or Emergency Room Technician (ER-tech).

Application Procedure

1. Bring WIA information and meet with a staff member. 2. Provide and complete training provider exploration form. 3. Submit High School/GED diploma. 4. Sign & date student enrollment form. Physical exam form must be completed by the student's primary care physician or another qualified healthcare provider. Fees for the CPT and CCMA certification exams are included in the total cost of the program. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
