Program Description
The Tukiendorf Training Institute offers a Hemodialysis Care Technician's program for individual's who desire to work in the healthcare field. Hemodialysis Care Technician's work in: hospitals, free standing clinics, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, as well as in the home health care setting.
Prerequisites: Completion of the Basic Nurse Assistant (CNA) program and Phlebotomy Technician programs in any order prior to taking the Hemodialysis Technician program.
This course is designed to train Hemodialysis Care Technicians (HCT's) in the basic skills necessary to perform hemodialysis functions and to be efficient and effective health care team members. In addition, to the Basic Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program, HCT's also learn basic CPR as well as Phlebotomy technician requirements and Hemodialysis Technician functions. Application Procedure
1. Bring WIOA information and meet with a staff member. 2. Provide and complete training provider exploration form. 3. Submit High school/GED diploma. 4. Sign and date student enrollment agreement. Criminal Background Check must be completed at an appropriate fingerprinting location. Physical exam form must be completed by the student's primary care physician or another qualified healthcare provider. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
