Program Description
With NIUs Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, you'll benefit from: 1) Extraordinary access to dedicated, passionate faculty whose expertise spans wide-ranging fields including clean energy and sustainability, robotics and control, and materials and manufacturing; 2) An array of internship opportunities with regional industries whose leaders have nurtured strong relationships with us over the years; 3) The opportunity to participate and grow in leadership roles in about 20 student organizations mentored by faculty advisors; 4) Research experience with the latest technologies, through grants that our faculty obtain from the likes of the U.S. National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy. We also offer our Mechanical Engineering program at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois.
