Program Description

The objectives of the Medical Assisting AAS Degree program are to prepare students to become valuable members of a healthcare team by supporting and assisting providers in delivering quality healthcare services; and to prepare students who are proficient in cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavioral) learning behaviors for entrylevel medical assistant positions. Graduates will understand and value critical thinking, communication, diverse perspectives, technology and information literacy, and medical ethics as they relate to the medical assisting career and the global community.
