Program Description
Phlebotomy is a 190 clock-hour program that prepares the student for a career in the clinical laboratory sciences. The program is designed to train the student in intravenous blood withdrawals and specimen collection for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Course work includes proper specimen collection, handling and processing, communication skills, safety and infection control, and other clinical skills integral to their upcoming role as members of the health care team. The student has the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained in the theory and laboratory classes through completion of 100 venipunctures and clinical externship. After successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to sit for the certification exams through the National HealthCare Association Certification Exam.

1)Schedule and visit ICI Campus for Initial Program Advisement Session with Admissions Staff; 2) Submit completed application forms and required documents-Photo ID, Social Security Card, Proof of Immigration Status, Valid CPR Card, Physical Exam & Immunization Records, Healthcare Worker Background Check Authorization and other signed school forms; and 3) Demonstrate 8th Grade Level Verbal & Quantitative Skills through Admission Basic Skills Test. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.
