Program Description
Addiction Studies BC is ideal for prospective mental health practitioners or those already working in the field who wish to receive training and credentials in Addictions Studies. Many Addictions Studies practitioners find employment in medical and non-medical detoxification centers, rehabilitation programs, community mental health centers and family service centers, halfway houses, therapeutic communities, business, or industry. Some combine counseling with such primary professions as nursing, social work, school guidance counseling, or the clergy.
This Basic Certificate program in Addictions Studies provides students with the academic requirements needed in the application for the Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) examination.
Completion of the program, students are eligible to take the Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) exam. Maximum tuition amount approved for the occupation: $5,000

Application Procedure
Having the resources provided will confirm and allow completion. Books are required in each of the courses that candidates must take to ensure they are successful in the course. The students WIOA ITA Voucher must be added to their student account, in order to make the purchases needed for the course/degree. Students will purchase their books through the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) Online Bookstore. Each semester WIOA funded candidates are required to submit to the Business Office a Book Voucher request form from the WIOA Coordinator, indicating they are WIOA funded. Students are required to provide a printout listing the books/cost needed to the business office to receive a Promo Code to purchase their books & supplies. Each semester the approved books are listed on CCC Online Bookstore, where students have the option of purchasing new, used or books for rent. The billing process: The Bookstore invoices the Business Office and the Business Office bills EdAssist.
