Program Description
The surgical technology program prepares students to work closely with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, registered nurse, and other surgical personnel in delivering safe patient care. The program prepares students in sterile set-up procedures, surgical techniques,and instrument and supply handling among other things. The training provided/certificate allows a graduate to fill the roles of a circulating surgical technologist and second assistng technologist.

Admission to JWCC is the first step. This can be done through the Admissions staff at JWCC. Upon completion of program Pre-Requisites, a separate application to the Surg. Tech department is required.
