Program Description
This program is designed to prepare competent, skilled nursing assistants to provide care at a more advanced level for the growing population of elderly. In addition to the required CNA curriculum, the course addresses: changes in the culture of long-term care, providing for more resident-centered care, an in-depth focus on caring for the person with dementia, advanced skills and topics geared toward enhancing the services and quality of life for an aging population, and how to improve the survey outcome for a facility.
The program is intended for qualified persons who are: CNAs and want to enhance their education, interested in entering the health care field as a direct care provider, seeking education to reenter the workforce, and/or seeking a short-term educational program leading to immediate employment.
