Program Description

Basic Electrocardiogram Technician program is a traning program for candidates who will work assisting the nurses as Telemetry Technician. These students upon completion of the training can work collecting abnormal EKG leads when the EKG monitors indicates an alert. These candidates will be responsible for taking the pictures of the electrical waves or activities of the heart. The electrical activities strips collected by the technician is used as the diagnostic tools by doctors to critical decisions regarding patients with cardiac problems.

Application Procedure

Student should appear in person at 523 South Halsted Street, Chicago Heights, Illinois 60411. Student will be invited to the school by appointment only after initial phone screening. Students must bring a legal state identification document such as driver's license and social security card. The student will be required to complete a three page application. Students must bring three names and phone numbers of family members as references. The student will take a test of basic math, reading and writing. The student will take home a form to get a school physical examination per IDPH policy. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occuaption is $3,000.
